Abstract

Ribbond fiber is a cutting-edge dental material designed to strengthen composite resin restorations, particularly in high C-factor cavities. Treated with gas plasma to enhance bonding, its translucent fibers blend seamlessly with composites, allowing natural light transmission through restorations. As an alternative to traditional posts, Ribbond reinforces weakened root structures, especially in flared root canals, where it acts as a "shock absorber" to prevent stress-related failures. Clinical studies report a 90.2% survival rate over 97 months for teeth restored with Ribbond fiber-reinforced post-and-core buildups. This adaptable material offers a promising solution for root canal rehabilitation without requiring additional canal enlargement, marking a significant advancement in dental restoration.
