Abstract

A comprehensive understanding of root canal variations is crucial for ensuring predictable results in endodontic treatment. The root and root canal anatomy of maxillary first molars can vary significantly. Although the literature reports many cases of maxillary second molars with multiple roots and canals, those with a single root canal are uncommon. Clinicians need to recognize these variations, as overlooking them may lead to unnecessary loss of tooth structure in the pursuit of additional canals. This case series discusses two cases of diagnosing and treating maxillary second molars with a single root and canal.
